Andrea Mohns-Brillaud
Andrea is in her 17th year as Head Coach/Coordinator of Skating at Boston University. As Coordinator of Skating at BU, Andrea oversees all skating-related programs. She serves as Head Coach to the Figure Skating/Ice Dance Team and as an Advisor to the Boston University Figure Skating Club and the Boston University Synchronized Skating Team. She also oversees the PDP recreational skating programs offered at BU and the Learn to Skate lessons offered to the outside community.
The BU Figure Skating Team has qualified for 16 consecutive Intercollegiate Final competitions. They have stood on the podium all 16 years. They won the National Final Championships in 2009, 2010, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023. (No Final was held in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19). As a collegiate-level coach, Andrea holds the most national championship teams in the history of the Intercollegiate Final.
Andrea is a former Terrier herself and skated for BU during her undergrad where she was lucky to be under the guidance of the former BU coach Barbara Pinch. It was during her time at BU, that she knew in her heart that she would return someday to give back to the skating community at BU. Andrea loves being back on campus and hopes that her students develop that love too.
Andrea is also a Co-Director of Skating at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. She has coached regional, sectional, and national competitors and has coached students to their gold medals in Freestyle, Moves in the Field, and Figures.
Andrea looks forward to seeing what the 2024-2025 season has in store for the skaters at Boston University.

As a former Intercollegiate Champion in ice dance for BU, Andrew is proud to continue coaching the team. Before coming to BU, Andrew skated competitively under the US Olympic Developmental Team--winning both Sectional and National competitions. Andrew has also taught students privately in ice dance, moves in the field, and choreography at all levels.
